Who we are

Cadence is an independent writing-and-typing tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google. "Google Docs" is a trademark of Google LLC.

What we collect

  • Account data. Your email address and authentication identifiers, handled by our authentication provider.
  • Draft content. Text you paste or generate, so it can be humanized, previewed, and typed. Stored against your account until you delete it.
  • Session data. Target document URL, persona, speed, progress position, timing checkpoints, and status/error events.
  • Runner data. A device name, pairing token, and heartbeat timestamps for each browser you pair.

What the extension can access

The Cadence Runner extension uses Chrome's debugger API to send keystrokes into the Google Docs tab you point it at. While a run is active, Chrome displays a banner telling you the extension is debugging the browser.

  • It only attaches to the tab you have targeted for a session.
  • It does not read, copy, or transmit the contents of your documents.
  • It does not collect browsing history, passwords, cookies, or form data.
  • It communicates only with the Cadence backend, to fetch the queued job and report progress.

How we use data

Only to operate the service: authenticate you, humanize the text you submit, deliver a queued job to your paired runner, show progress, and support you when something breaks. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Third parties

  • Hosting, database, and authentication — our backend provider stores accounts, drafts, and sessions.
  • AI model provider — text you submit for humanization is sent to a model provider to generate the rewrite. Do not paste confidential, regulated, or personal information belonging to other people.

Retention and deletion

Drafts and sessions stay until you delete them. Deleting your account removes your drafts, sessions, and paired runners. You can unpair a runner at any time from the Runners page, or remove the extension from Chrome.

Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and access is restricted per account with row-level security. No system is perfectly secure; please don't store anything in Cadence you couldn't tolerate being exposed.

Children

Cadence is not intended for use by anyone under 13.
